RoboX Strategy Rolls Out as CaoCao Mobility Explores Scaled Operations for Robotaxi Commercialization in China

On June 18, CaoCao Mobility unveiled its RoboX strategy at the 2026 International Automobile & Supply Chain Expo (Hong Kong), proposing a comprehensive AI transformation and building a world-leading physical AI mobility technology platform around the trinity development model of “intelligent purpose-built vehicles + intelligent driving technology + intelligent operations“. As an important participant in China’s Robotaxi-related business, CaoCao Mobility is using this strategy to reshape the relationship among vehicles, technology, and operations, advancing its autonomous driving business from vehicle development toward an actual service system.

The first concrete step of this strategy is its vehicle products. CaoCao Mobility continues to advance development of Eva Cab-China’s first natively developed purpose-built Robotaxi-which adopts a no-front-passenger-seat, steering-wheel-free design and is defined and engineered for autonomous driving operational scenarios. Under current plans, CaoCao Mobility’s deeply customized natively developed purpose-built Robotaxi will enter mass production in 2027, with a target of cumulatively deploying 100,000 Robotaxis by 2030, establishing the vehicle foundation for subsequent scaled services.

Beyond vehicle scale, whether Robotaxi can enter normalized operations also depends on supporting service systems. As of June 30, 2026, CaoCao Mobility had deployed 140 second-generation Robotaxis and built a Green Intelligent Mobility Hub around vehicle operations to provide related vehicles with services such as energy replenishment, cleaning, vehicle preparation, and smart dispatching. The connection among vehicles, infrastructure, and the dispatching system is gradually extending Robotaxi operations from single-vehicle technology validation toward systematized operations.

CaoCao Mobility’s existing mobility platform scale provides another layer of foundation for its intelligent business. As of June 30, 2026, its service network covered 215 cities across China. In the first half of 2026, total revenue reached RMB10.3 billion, up 9.0% year on year; mobility service revenue reached RMB9.8 billion, up 13.9% year on year; and period GTV (Gross Transaction Value) reached RMB12.4 billion, up 13.6% year on year. Over the same period, average monthly active users reached 44.6 million, up 17.1% year on year, and average monthly active drivers reached 758,000, up 36.8% year on year.

AI is becoming an important tool connecting these business links. “CaoCao Brain” has been applied to transaction processes, using AI to optimize supply-demand matching. On September 9, the AI ride-hailing service jointly built by CaoCao Mobility and Doubao went live in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Suzhou. On September 14, the consumer version of the Doubao mobile assistant was officially launched, with CaoCao Mobility as the first service provider in the mobility segment to integrate. Through AI on-device entry points, user demands can be further connected with vehicles and mobility services, and the company is also exploring applications such as intelligent vehicle control.

Beyond the Robotaxi business, the RoboX strategy also undertakes international expansion tasks. In 2026, CaoCao Mobility carried out strategic cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and advanced cooperation with K2 Group and May Mobility to explore Robotaxi deployment and operations in overseas markets. The synchronous advancement of domestic platform capabilities and overseas business exploration enables smart mobility technology to further expand into different markets and application environments.

For China’s Robotaxi, robotaxi commercialization is not merely about changes in vehicle numbers, but also involves product development, operational dispatching, infrastructure, user access, and service fulfillment. As the most important commercialization vehicle for Geely Holding Group’s Robotaxi, CaoCao Mobility has this time incorporated relevant capabilities into a unified physical AI mobility technology platform through its RoboX strategy, demonstrating its business path of extending from autonomous driving product development toward a comprehensive intelligent mobility operations system.
